Now Registrars' interview clandestinely held in Pharmacology Deptt | No end to Principal's arbitrariness in GMC&H | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 27: Holding of interviews of Registrars in department of Pharmacology rather than Principal's chamber has raised many an eyebrows in the GMC&H and once again brought to the fore the tendency of the hospital administration to forgo conventions according to its own whims and fancies. "It is notified for the information of all eligible candidates who have applied for the posts of Registrars/Demonstrators in Govt. Medical College, Jammu in pursuant to this office Advertisement Notice No. JMC/ Es-1/109/2690 & No. JMC/ES-1/109/2691 dated 03-09-2016, that their interview shall be held on 16-11-2016 at 11.AM in the office chamber of the undersigned, " the order published by the administration clearly stated. The order clearly stated that the interview would be conducted in the Principal's Office but in clandestine departure from the order, the interviews were conducted in a junior faculty room of Pharmacology department. Sources disclosed to Early Times that the approach and sensitivity of higher officials of the GMCH Jammu can be gauged from the fact that while the interview should have been conducted in Principal Chambers in the presence of Head of Departments (HoDs) of respective departments, they were secretively conducted in Pharmacology department. "Besides the fishy change of venue, even few lower ranked blue eyed faculty members were also involved and all interviews were held in their presence, "Sources alleged adding that few of faculty members raised their voice against the arbitrariness of Principal before conducting interviews but to no avail. Seeking anonymity, senior doctors, alleged that the Principal wanted to conduct interviews in the Pharmacology department and interestingly in a junior faculty member's room instead of Principal Chamber, despite reservations expressed by some HoDs. Sources in the hospital divulged that the acting principal has repeatedly been changing the laid norms according to his own whims and fancies to extend benefits to certain blue eyed and causing huge inconvenience to the others. "It is strange that the administration of the department of health and medical education has assumed stoic silence over the anarchy" an HoD exclaimed. |
