India Pakistan must stop border firing: Zulfkar | Says J&K Govt is committed to develop rural areas at par with cities | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Nov 27: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has called upon India and Pakistan to restore neighbourly relationship so that people on Line of Control and International Borders are not suffered anymore. While addressing various public grievance redressal camps in Dalheri, Gunda, Keri Bheela, Gadyog, Kundal, Bainambal and Dharmsal areas of Darhal assembly constituency, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that bitter and cordial relation between India and Pakistan directly affects the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that when there are cordial relation between India and Pakistan, the guns on LoC and IB remain silent and people enjoy their life but due to bitter relation, the people of border areas are worst sufferer. Making an appeal to both sides to do justice with their respective people, Zulfkar said that poor, downtrodden and people from depressed classes who live near the line of control are the worst sufferer of this border tension as this border firing has taken away their sleeps. He said that leadership of both countries must take the issue seriously and save their people from more damage. He added that in the era of 21st Century, when people should have demands like IT , universities, Laboratories etc , they are demanding bunkers to save their lives. 'This is injustice with the people living on borders', he said, adding that the people in Rajouri and Poonch have always become scapegoat of border tension. "Pakistan is our neighbouring country. In fact both the countries should maintain not just good relations but friendly relations with each others because , 'Friends change, but neighbours do not" he added.The Minister said that State government is doing all means to help these border firing victims. He said that Chief Minister has personally visited these areas and announced that government will provide relief and also construct individual bunkers and community bunkers. Meanwhile Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that state government has focused attention towards rural areas so as to make these areas developed at par with the urban areas. He said that state cannot move ahead till all the villages are developed and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is very concerned about the development of rural areas. He said that various developmental projects are going on in the rural belts and more projects are in offing to start. During the public redressal camps, Minister gave patience hearing to the problem of the people and passed necessary instruction to the concerned officers and assured the people to resolve their genuine issue within shortest possible time. He directed all the concerned officers to make frequent visits and organise the awareness camps in the far flung areas so that the downtrodden rural people could know about the various social welfare schemes and the benefit of these schemes could percolate to the needy masses. District Development Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Jammu G.S. Chib along with all sectoral and district officers were accompanying Minister during the tour. |
