Early Times Report
Poonch, Nov 27: While the construction work on it started about a decade back to connect remote areas with the main Mendhar town, the 5 km long Sagra-Ghani road is still incomplete. "The construction work on the road was taken up about 10 years ago. Since then, only the earthwork of the road has been done. After its completion, it is expected to benefit a population of 10,000 people of Baloni, Sagra and the adjoining helmets. Only one runs from the main town to these villages daily, but the journey is very troublesome due the dilapidated road conditions. Patients and students are the main sufferers," locals said. Ex-chairman of Lower Ghani panchayat, Abdul Khaliq said though they had several times called on PWD executive engineer, Poonch, and his juniors in the district, but all in vain. He urged the PWD chief engineer and DC, Poonch, to order an inquiry into this matter and ensure relief to the distressed population of the area. |
