Purse snatchers put police on its heels | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Dec 1: The purse snatchers active in the Rajouri city has put the police on its heels as atleast four purse snatching incidents have been reported within 40 days in city but the police yet have to get any lead in this regard. In the last three incidents of purse snatching two unidentified youths who were riding on the motorcycle were involved in the snatching incidents but today snatchers struck in the passenger bus. According to source, an aged woman namely Nirmal Kumari wife of Chuni Lal resident of village Chingus while on way to her home after withdrawing Rs14000 pension from the bank got her purse snatched. The purse snatchers taking advantages of overloading and her age secretly cut the handle of her purse and decamp with the cash. The matter has been brought into the notice of police and after legal formalities an investigation has been started by the police Earlier on November 3, a middle aged woman who robbed while she was shopping in the Gujjar Mandi chowk area by two motor cycle borne youth. Prior to this in a similar case two unidentified motor cycle borne youth snatched the purse of a middle aged woman in the vicinity of PWD Dak Bunglow on October 19 and she was robbed of Rs 4000 cash, a mobile phone and doctor's prescriptions as the woman had came for the medical check-up of her 7 year old boy. Yet in another case two motor cycle borne youth snatched the cash bag from an employee of a wine shop near old bus stand while he was on way to home after closing the shop at about 9.15 pm on October 18. Though Police had assured swift action in the last three incidents against the accused but till today police have failed to arrest any accused involved in purse snatching cases. |
