Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 1: Embarrassed over extremely poor response of general public as well as the party activists to Aakrosh rallies against demonetization move of the Modi Government, Congress leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have held the PCC president G A Mir responsible for the same.
According to the sources in Congress circles, the party high command has taken cognizance of negligible strength in the Aakrosh rallies across the State and expressed displeasure over the same. However, on the other hand, sources said that the State leaders have held the PCC president G A Mir responsible for the same as he did nothing to rejuvenate the party at ground level.
While elaborating, sources said that unprecedented delay in constitution of district and block committees of the Pradesh Congress was main reason behind poor response of the party workers and leaders in holding impressive shows. District and block committees of the Pradesh Congress have not been constituted or the last ten years and the incumbent PCC president G A Mir is also delaying formation of the same for the reason best known to him, ruled a senior congress leaders.
Because of no organizational responsibility, majority of the Congress leaders were reluctant to play very active role in the Aakrosh rallies, which invited very poor response and thus turned out to be flop shows, sources said and added that the party high command has also been apprised of this reason.
Pertinent to mention that the dissident group in State unit of Congress had formally apprised Ambika Soni, Incharge Congress affairs for J&K and Ghulam Nabi Azad, Leader of Oppostion in the Rajya Sabha, about unprecedented delay in formation of district and block committees of the Pradesh Congress even as the incumbent PCC president has completed more than one and half year in the office.
