Kishtwar, Dec 3: Closing Ceremony of Police Sports Mela which was inaugurated on November 30 by the Dy. Commissioner Kishtwar was held today at Chowgan Ground Kishtwar wherein Ashit Bajpai Commander 9 Sector RR was the Chief Guest. SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Kumar Wazir while speaking on this occasion said that such events are organized by J&K police under Civic Action Program (CAP) in order to channelize youth energy in right directions and to keep them physically and mentally fit as well as to keep them away from drug addiction. He said such events also help improving police public relations and maintaining communal harmony. He said during the tournament 778 players from different corners of District Kishtwar participated in 09 games. The final match in Kabbadi was played between DPL Kishtwar and Kishtwar Young Stars. Young Stars one the game by 08 points. The 2nd final match in Tug of War was played between Israria and Youngsters of Village Matta. Youngsters of Matta won the final match. The Chief Guest Shri Ashit Bajpai along with other distinguished guests gave away the Cash prizes and trophies to the Winner up and runners up teams. While speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest applauded the role of Police department in organizing such events and also appreciated the youth for participation in such mega event.
