BJP ministers mint money, Cong leaders silent | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 3: Even as social media is flooded with posts of alleged corruption and nepotism by the BJP ministers in the coalition government but opposition parties especially Congress has failed to encash peoples' anger against ministers of the saffron party. Many eye-brows are raised about attitude of the Congress leaders in mobilizing and educating public against alleged corrupt practices and misdeeds of BJP ministers, facing charges of corruption. Credible sources in the corridors of power said that some senior Congress leaders are hand in glove with BJP ministers and they have assured not to expose misdeeds of BJP ministers. "Majority of the Congress leaders were involved in corrupt practices during their tenure as ministers so there is fear among them that if they come forward to expose corruption of BJP ministers their cases would be reopened so they (Congress leaders) have struck a deal with their BJP counterparts that they would not expose their misdeeds and corrupt practices among masses", sources said. A senior Congress leader, on the condition of anonymity, said that workers were ready to take corruption issue on the roads along with senior leaders but senior leaders are more particular about the issue demonetization instead of corruption by BJP ministers. Sources said that Congress workers have repeatedly told their senior leaders that people are not supporting agitation against demonetization and there is anger against BJP ministers for their corrupt practices but the senior leaders are not giving them free hand to take corruption issue on the streets. Instead of coming forward to led agitation against corrupt practices of BJP ministers, Congress leadership is asking only frontal organizations to hold symbolic protests just for public consumption. |
