jammu, Dec 3: Four alleged heroin smugglers were today denied bail by additional sessions judge, Jammu, Rajesh Sekri.
The accused included Ved Parkash, Jaswinder Kumar alias Sida, Mohammad Farooq and Sandeep Kumar. 5 kg of heroin was alleged to have been recovered from their possession by SOG.
Rejecting the bail application, the court observed that during the currency of investigation, the accused were habitual criminals being imnvolved in various cases of smuggling of brown sugar, charas, heroin, gold and arms and ammunition and the prosecution was yet to be examine material witnesses.
The propensity of petitioners to jump over bail and win over the prosecution witnesses could not be ruled out. With these observations, the court rejected their bail application. (JNF) |
