Jammu, Dec 3: The inspectorate staff of Drug & Food Control Organization (Drug Wing) carried out searches/ inspection of stores belonging to Health Department, Sheep Husbandry Department and distributors operating in open market with an objective to prevent further use of drugs declared to be not of standard quality by the government analyst of the state. During the above said exercise, seizure of drugs worth Rs 1,37,750 were carried out by the empowered staff in exercise of powers vested under relevant provisions of drug regulation. The seized medicines include Albomin (B.No : L-2127,L-2238), Amsil-SP(B.No : MT160640), Ansaid-P (B.No : AT-1601137),Inj Oxy-100, Glimperide & Metformin Hydrochloride Tablets(B.No : GT-160167), & Corex Cough Syrup. Investigations on the individual basis is being carried out and the defaulters shall be booked as per legal provisions in due course of time. The details of seizures carried out has been brought to the notice of concerned Chief Judicial Magistrate for seeking custody thereof The stakeholders at large are impressed upon to regularly check alert & public notices issued by the department through leading newspapers to enable the department to serve better & help prevent use of inferior quality medicines by the end users. |
