JAMMU, Dec 22: The vigilance organisation (VO) today raided the residence of a woman patwari at Masjid Mohalla, Channi Rama, and booked her in disproportionate assets case.
The raid was carried out at the residence of Shama Parveen, wife of Showkat Ali of Masjid Mohalla on the basis of a VO verification into allegations against her, according to official sources.
Shama, presently posted in JDA, purchased one kanal of land under khasra No 57 (old 417) at Channi Rama on March 24, 2014. It was mutated in her name vide mutation No 4794. The VO verification allegedly revealed that she had also purchased one kanal more land as benami property in the name of Akhter Hussain, brother of her husband, adjacent to her plot and covered both the plots with a common boundary wall. She is alleged to have constructed a palatial house, valuing about 1.10 cr, on the two plots.
She also allegedly owns jewellery and other costly electronic items. During comparative analysis of her income from all sources and expenditure incurred revealed that assets owned by her were much higher than her known legal sources of income, sources alleged, saying she had raised huge assets during her service which were disproportionate to her known sources of income.
VO has registered a case against her under section 5 (1) (e) read with section 5 (2) of P C Act, 2006. |
