| Babu raises palatial house on forest land, authorities mum | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 22: An Assistant Commissioner has constructed a palatial house on an encroached forest land at Sujawan in Jammu, but the authorities concerned have turned a blind eye to it.
"This is shocking that despite tall claims of the state government of securing forest land, influential and high profile officers continue to encroach government land. This is happening without any check from the authorities concerned," sources told Early Times.
They said the officer in question has not even witnessed any resistance from police and revenue department.
"One can imagine the non-seriousness of the departments concerned, especially police, revenue and forest who have remained mute spectators until the officer managed to raise a palatial house," said sources.
"It may not be perhaps wrong to say that the officer in question managed to raise structure in connivance with the forest and revenue departments," said sources.
The involvement of senior revenue and police officers, besides ministry cannot be overruled, they added.
Pertinently, the said officer before present posting has worked in Jammu district. |
