Jammu, Mar 17: Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC) today held a meeting under Chairmanship of its President Rajeev Charak at Bawe Wali Mata, Bahu Fort, here for discussing arrangements regarding upcoming Chaiter Navratras. Senior officers from Police, Public Health Department, Power Development Department, PWD, Road and Buildings Department, Jammu Municipality and other stakeholders participated in the meeting. On the occasion, Rajeev Charak explained the volunteers about their duties and also gave them guidelines for remaining vigilant against unscrupulous/anti-national elements while providing varied level of assistance to the devotees during the Navratras. He appealed the people in general to cooperate with the authorities and adhere to rules of traffic management, security frisking. Charak also requested officials of JMC to complete their pending works on war footing so that the devotees may not face any difficulty in seeking blessing of Mata Maha Kali. Charak also appealed Traffic Police for proper management of the heavy traffic and jams. He also appealed people to cooperate with the Police and volunteers deployed at the holy shrine to avoid any type of mis-happening during the Navratras. Later, a large number of local vendors called on Charak and express resentment against police authorities for forcibly dislodging them from their temporary venue outside temple complex and depriving them of the routine daily earnings to make their both ends meet. The delegation apprised Charak that they were license holder vendors but authorities unnecessary harass the poor in name of traffic management. |
