Jammu, Mar 17: To improve the social, mental and overall development of the little ones, a workshop on 'Early Childhood Education' was organized for the teachers of the Pre-Primary wing at DPS Jammu here today. The resource persons were Pooja Langeh and Poonam Pakhreria who had earlier attended a similar programme at DPSS HRD Centre, Dwarka, New Delhi. The workshop covered a variety of topics that were designed to help the educators of children for the age group of 3 to 6 years. Lot of interactive activities such as, Balloon-Blowing, Number-skills, Ball Making with waste papers, etc were conducted for the development of cognitive, physical and motor skills of children. Role plays were also conducted for enhancing language development skills. Around 40 teachers of the pre-primary wing participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. The participants were motivated to delve deep into their pupils' minds and understand what a child expects from them. Overall, it was a highly useful workshop which succeeded in imparting the right pedagogical approach to be adopted, especially while teaching the pre-schoolers. Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra encouraged the teachers to effectively utilize the tips learnt in the workshop for the benefit of all the students. She congratulated both the resource persons for organizing such an enriching workshop. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta also appreciated them. Coordinator, Pre-Primary wing, Preeti Abrol Nanda also spoke on the occasion. |
