Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Mar 24: It seems the security agencies operating in the state are finding it difficult to crack a whip on secessionists and anti-social elements, but they don't miss any chance to take action against the nationalists.
Same was witnessed in the busy Lal Chowk area of summer capital on Friday (March 23) evening after Jammu & Kashmir Police arrested two persons who wanted to unfurl the national flag in the area. Both the persons were whisked away to the nearby police station only to be released after intense questioning.
Reports said that in the evening at about 7:00 PM a group of locals witnessed the movement of two persons heading towards the clock tower known as Ghanta Ghar in local parlance. The locals got somewhat alert after they found the two persons carrying a flag in their hands. The information somewhat got leaked to the personnel of local police station.
The police personnel immediately swung into action and arrested the duo and shifted them to the nearby post located in the Palladium Cinema. Later on they were shifted to the nearby police station only to be released later on. The persons arrested have been identified as Balbir Bharatiya and Bimla Chaudhary.
It has been learnt from sources that both the persons were activists of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and belonged to Rajasthan. They had come all along the way to hoist the national flag in the city centre of summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir. However, instead of hoisting the flag the RSS activists were arrested by the police.
Earlier in the day activists of banned separatist outfit Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) had sent the security agencies into a tizzy by organizing a function on the occasion of Pakistan Day (March 23). The function was held in the Soura area. DeM has been organizing such functions on the occasion of Pakistan Day and Independence Day of Pakistan on August 14.
The function had started with the playing of national anthem of Pakistan. The Dukhtaran activists sang the Pakistani national anthem while waving the Pakistani flags. The Dukhtaran activists without giving any damn to the security apparatus raised slogans in favour of Pakistan. Some of the activists raised anti-India slogans on this occasion as well.
As the photos as well as video of the function went viral on social networking sites a case was registered by Jammu & Kashmir Police. The case was registered under various sections of Prevention of Unlawful Activities (UA) (P) Act. The case was registered at police station Soura and investigations have been set into motion.
