Saffron party playing with fire?
BJP out to give 'legitimacy' to Pak stooges

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 7: The signals emanating from New Delhi indicate that Government of India has decided to soften its policy towards terror and the separatists in Kashmir.
Vice-President of Bharatiya Janata Party and Jammu and Kashmir in-charge Ram Madhav has once again reiterated that Centre is ready to talk with Pakistan stooges and the interlocutor appointed by the Government of India is already on the job.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said that BJP led NDA government should spill the beans and explain the agenda for talks. "Is it that it wants to discuss Kashmiri's Azadi with the Pakistan stooges or negotiate a plan with them about how to give Kashmir to Pakistan?" he added.
"BJP's soft approach towards terror and the Pakistani agents could prove disastrous for the country. Since the day top BJP leaders have started harping about Hurriyat and talks the state BJP leaders too have changed their tone. They (state BJP leaders) too are leaving no stone unturned to appease the Kashmir centric leaders," the analyst said adding, "Someone should ask them (BJP leaders) what has compelled them to surrender before the separatists and the gun wielding terrorists."
A politician said, "BJP's new found love for the terrorists and the separatists is bound spell doom for the saffron party. With just 11-months left for the parliamentary polls to be held, the BJP is playing with fire."
He said, "For the past four years BJP leaders have been stating that separatists in Kashmir are irrelevant and dance to the tunes of their mentors sitting across the Line of Control (LoC). How come they have become relevant now and GoI is eager to talk to them."
"The government has made arrangements to talk to all sections of the society in the Valley. Government is willing to have open political negotiations with different sections, including Hurriyat," Madhav said, adding that he was hopeful that Hurriyat would respond positively to the peace talks., "Someone needs to tell Madhav that remote control of the Pak stooges lies with Pakistan and they won't enter into any process which would annoy their bosses sitting across the Line of Control," said an observer.
He said that BJP should realize that if it enters into any sort of parleys with the separatists it would give "legitimacy" to them and they can derive political mileage out of it. "Separatists should be asked to join the mainstream and prove their representative character first. Then only any talks should be held with them," he added.
