For Cluster University Srinagar, Mehbooba is Chancellor, Bukhari Pro-Chancellor 6/26/2018 11:23:29 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, June 26: A week has passed since government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti sank, but she continues to be the Chancellor of the Cluster University Srinagar(CUS), if the varsity website is to be believed. As per official website of CUS, URL http://www.cusrinagar.edu.in/Home/AboutCUS Mehbooba Mufti continues to be the Chancellor of the University whereas the former Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari is the Pro Chancellor. On the about us page, the varsity has decorated pictures of the duo as well. Pertinently, the previous PDP led government was often accused of having "transformed" the CUS into "institution of Yes Ministership where mainly those close to the then ruling party were calling the shots." Sources said it was due to the "proximity" of some varsity officials with the PDP leaders that latter's names are yet to be removed from the official pages. Sources said one of the ministers from the previous government continues to call the shots in the varsity matters. Sources said the former minister, who also had vote bank politics at stake, continues to be touch in some of the officials in connection with the execution of various projects at the varsity. "Most of the projects are being executed by his aides, so he continues to lobby for them and the official machinery is all ears to his dictations," the sources said. It was reliably learnt that soon after the imposition of governor's rule, various government institutions were asked to upgrade their websites. But the CUS seems to have missed the timely upgradation. When contacted a senior official said the matter would be looked into.
