Wrongs in JU: VC continues to hoodwink Chancellor
6/26/2018 11:25:00 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 26: As Prof Ramji Dass Sharma has proved to be a liability and burden on the establishment given his past three years records of functioning as Vice Chancellor of Jammu University which is replete with irregularities, he always misguided the Governor.
Sources in the university informed that whenever the Chancellor asked for reports on important and controversial issues, Prof Sharma manipulated the replies in a manner in which he always put dust in the eyes of Chancellor and allegedly did not put the facts and figures in his reports just to give shelter to his 'blue-eyed' officers.
Sources further divulged that the VC, crossing all limits of official decorum and propriety, kept the Chancellor in darkness on issues pertaining promotion case of Associate Professor Anupama Vohra to the post of Professor, cancellation of interviews of Assistant Registrar in which VC's own daughter was involved, open violation of 'One Man One Post' norm in JU, direct appointment for the post of Director DDE, three persons were appointed on two posts and gave them benefits of last eight years, and issues regarding appointments in various cadres violating rules and university statutes.
Instead of coming clean in number of issues in which Chancellor desired transparent reports, the VC tried to conceal the factual reports to misguide Raj Bhawan with the ill intention to carry on his nefarious agenda of accommodating his yes men in order to make JU his fiefdom.
This is how VC has been functioning since last three years at his own sweet will, throwing the rules and regulations to the dustbin and deliberately kept the Chancellor uninformed about the reality and facts for the reasons best known to Prof Sharma.
Now upon fall of PDP-BJP government and imposition of Governor rule in the state, the sources urged that now Governor, who is head of state government as well as Chancellor of JU, should take serious cognizance of wrong reporting communicated to Raj Bhawan by VC with the intention to mislead the Governor and necessary steps be taken to hold thorough probe on the mischievous functioning and misdoings of Prof Sharma during his three year tenure.
