Early Times Report
Jammu, June 26: Senior doctors of the Government Medical College have managed appointment of junior doctors for the upcoming Shree Amarnath Ji Yatra, to ensure their private practice without break.
Complying with the Supreme Court directions, the neighboring states have deployed doctors above lecturer rank for the Shree Amarnath Ji Yatra but but GMC Jammu has finalized the list of junior doctors under the influence of senior doctors.
Here it needs to be mentioned that ET had carried story on 23 June with title 'Junior doctors being deployed for Amarnath Ji Yatra', which is the clear violation of the Supreme Court of India that doctor with Specialization from GMC Jammu and GMC Srinagar to be deployed on temporary duty during the Amarnath Ji Yatra but they failed to do so.
Sources told Early Times that some doctors of the GMC Jammu, having nexus with higher authority, have succeeded to manage deployment of junior doctors, who belong to Health Department, not to Medical Education Department, having less experience to deal emergency cases, which will crucial period to decide the fate of patient.
"Few days are remained to start Shree Amarnath Ji Yatra and people throughout the country will visit Jammu and Kashmir to be a part of the Yatra but unfortunately, the GMC Jammu and its parental department have shown least interest in the care of devotees, "sources asserted.
Sources claimed that junior doctors were deployed under the influence of some senior doctors of the GMC Jammu, who do not want to leave the chance to earned more and more money by doing private practices for the Yatra. "Some of the doctors have on vacations and continuously indulge in the private practices and they have compelled the administration of GMC Jammu to keep themselves out from the above-said list, "sources alleged.
Even, the GMC Jammu has not bothered about the directions of the Supreme Court that the Government must seek services of Specialists doctors from Medical Colleges for their deployment on temporary duty during the Amarnath Ji Yatra but a Registrar from Orthopedic department and two Medical Officer (MO) of General Medicine of GMC Jammu are being deployed for the same.
