Jammu, June 26: The Punjab Government established Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) opened its Counselling and Admission Centre (CAC) at Jammu, which was inaugurated by MRSPTU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Mohan Paul Singh Ishar at an impressive function held at Gandhi Nagar here on Tuesday. An impressive function marked the ceremony, which was attended by various NGO's, educationists, Chairmen/Directors of more than 75 affiliated Institutions, senior officials and dignitaries from all walks of life. MRSPTU, Bathinda is one of the front ranking educational Institution of Punjab, which has become epitome of professional education and Centre Point of Excellence in Technical and Scientific Education. Punjab Government has been developing it as Model University in the state. MRSPTU is first Government Technical University of Punjab registered under section 2(f) and 12B of University Grants Commission (UGC) making it eligible for liberal central grants. The CAC at Jammu is aimed to facilitate and provide an opportunity to the students of Jammu & Kashmir realizing their dreams to pursue Quality Higher Technical Education at premier institutions in Punjab. M.O.U was also signed between Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA-MRSPTU), Convener, Devinder Pal Singh and Gagandeep Sharma. While addressing the gathering, MRSPTU, Dr. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar said Technical Education plays a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life of its people. "We need environment friendly cutting edge technologies for bolstering our development," he said. He said, "In India, we have witnessed the marvels of the discoveries of science and technology in the development of the nation. The Green Revolution, for example, resulted in enhanced agricultural productivity. We need engineering and management capabilities, robust mechanisms for collaborations with other institutions to propel technology driven development in the country as we expand our infrastructure. |
