Jammu, June 26: The Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police today took out rallies in the Jammu city to generate awareness against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. The two rallies were flagged off from the zonal headquarters of the Crime Branch and Panjtirthi by Additional Superintendent of Police Suram Singh. The Crime Branch is firm in its resolve to fight drug abuse and illicit trafficking, an official spokesperson said. Huge rallies were taken out in Jammu city to mark the International Day for Fight against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, he added. The crime branch officers and personnel used public address systems to communicate with the people during the rallies, carried banners and handed out flyers. Two teams were formed at the zonal headquarters of the Crime Branch to generate awareness in various parts of Jammu, the spokesperson said. He said the rallies sought to sensitise society, especially the youth, who can be vulnerable, against the ills of drugs. The youth were urged to join hands in the fight against drug abuse for wellbeing of society, the spokesperson said. |
