Udhampur, June 27: Poverty has pushed the kids in Pathi area of district Udhampur to make decorative flower from the leaves and sell them to make a living for themselves and their families.
They gang the tourists coming to virgin tourist spots of Pancheri as well as Moungri and try to sell them their 'handicraft'. They do not mince words in telling them that they must sell them to make a living. "We need money to buy our books and study material and we give rest of it to our parents" they would narrate to the tourists to convince them to buy their stuff. Locals people also appreciate the innovation of these kids and courage them. Locals have requested to Prime Minister to encourage these young artists and entrepreneurs and direct the authorities to assist in making their product more popular and saleable. |
