| Corrupt JE accumulates huge wealth, locals allege misappropriation | | | A B Sharma

Sunderbani , June 27: A Junior Engineer of the Public Works Department ( PWD) Sunderbani who has been stationed here as JE since past 6-7 years has reportedly accumulated astronomical assets movable and immovable worth Rs 7-8 crores.
This was disclosed by one of his seniors in the department pleading anonymity that the concerned JE who is in service for past few years had accumulated wealth from unknown sources and is ruling the department on his own whims and fancies.
Besides having the astronomical wealth, the JE who is resident of Rajouri also runs two brick kilns and owns heavy vehicles besides having constructed his palatial Bungalow in Sunderbani.
The residents of Sunderbani also alleged that over the years, through the works done by the JE in the department like constructions of bridges, roads and culverts, he has been neck deep in the corruption and had looted the state exchequer.
The people also alleged that he was using his influence to get the departmental works allocated to his blue eyed contractors, who compromised on the quality of works and paid him fat cuts.
People have demanded that a vigilance enquiry be initiated against the corrupt JE and he should be booked under the criminal law for damaging the state exchequer and the hard earned money of the people. |
