Election preparedness meeting held at Kishtwar

Kishtwar, June 27: In order to get themselves prepared for upcoming elections, an election preparedness meeting was today held at new DC office complex Kishtwar which was attended by the Assistant Commissioner Development Anil Kumar Chandel, District Panchayat Officer Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, Block Development Officers of Kishtwar District, VLWs, BLOs, officials of election department and others.
The participants were briefed by election expert Raiz Ahmed Butt on the various procedures including on the topic "Procedure for change in Panchayat control table" and all the participants were briefed about the various steps for making changes in the electoral list in terms of correction, deletion and addition of names in the voter list beside wrong entries in terms of wards in Panchayat and Municipality during delimitation process. Speaking to "Early Times", State Nodel Officer SVEEP Raiz Ahmed Butt said that this exercise is a continuous process added that the aim and objectives of regular reviews is to remain fully prepared for the elections as and when it happened. He said that all the officials related to election process were guided about the day to day electoral reforms and online modification in the system towards wrong entries in wards of panchayat. He said that the process is a follow up process after 13-12-2017 gazette notification which act as base line for the electoral revision process.
Later ACD Kishtwar also held a brief review on the progress of various works under MGNREGA and IAY in various blocks of the District. He directed all the subordinates to complete all the election related works well on time beside also focus on the prime duties with regard to effective functioning of the department so that poor people could get befits from the government run schemes.
