Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 5: All Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has asked the leaders of all the mainstream parties to stay away from the religious functions saying that these leaders exploit the religious sentiments of masses for their own purpose even on religious occasions.
Talking to Early Times, AMCCC Chief Desh Rattan Pandita said that mainstream politicians stayed away from the Kheer Bhawani mela celebrated few days back. He said that since Governor Rule was imposed on the day the mela was celebrated the mainstream politicians preferred to remain away from the function.
"Absence of the mainstream politicians during this year's Kheer Bhawani mela has proved that these people are not well wishers of common masses. The visit of these politicians when they are in power is aimed to befool the general public and as such the people in general need to be vigilant about these politicians," said Pandita.
The AMCCC Chief said that the Committee feels sorrow over the thin attendance of Kashmiri Pandits during this year's Kheer Bhawani mela. He said the people more so the members of Kashmiri Pandit community are fed up with the hollow promises made by the leaders. He said the 'stooges' of these leaders were shown the door this time around and as such they did not attend the Kheer Bhawani mela during this year.
"We succeeded in ensuring that banners of all the political parties along with their symbols are not allowed to be hoisted in the premises of temple at Kheer Bhawani. This was a long pending demand of the AMCCC and this time around we were successful in our endeavour. We express our gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal for making this thing possible," said Pandita.
The AMCCC Chief said that the mainstream politicians along with their 'agents' are virtually looting the finances of the state by burning fuel to attend the functions even if they are religious and personal in nature. He said that people should not believe statements and hollow slogans of the different political parties and their leaders since they are not bothered about the dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley.
