Guv seeks report into Jhelum dredging scam | Plunder worth Rs 400 Cr suspected | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report srinagar, July 5: Governor NN Vohra Thursday sought a report into alleged Rs 400 Cr worth Jhelum dredging scam. Taking cognizance of tweet related to Jhelum dredging scam, Governer N N Vohra directed Grievance cell for probe and report. "JK Grievance for action and report," Vohra replied to Srinagar based Journalist Asif Suhaf. Asif works with a New Delhi based media house and had alleged that river Jehlum dredging was scam worth 400 Cr. "As per sources #Jehlum River Desilt (Dredging) is 400Cr Scam, Money pocketed by all at the helm of affairs ... Machines which were used to Desilt Jehlum only extracted sand & sold in open market for which transactions were done in cash, @jandkgovernor should initiate probe," Asif Suhaf, had tweeted earlier. He had requested Governor N N Vohra to initiate a probe into the scam. Yesterday, a BJP leader Sheikh Khalid Jahangir too alleged large scale irregularities and scams at Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation and had requested Governor to initiate a probe. Before demitting office as Vice-Chairman of the corporation, he wrote to N N Vohra in detail and had reportedly submitted crucial documents as well. |
