Despite Raj Bhawan orders, Sunderbani schools await biometric attendance | | | Early Times Report Rajauri, Aug 1: In brazen violation of the orders of Governor NN Vohra, the government schools at Sunderbani here are yet to install the biometric attendance for the school staff, a delay that continues to affect the working of the educational institutions in the border district. Official sources said there are as many as 83 schools in the area including 45 primary schools, 29 middle schools, a higher secondary school and eight high schools. But barring nine schools, which managed to install the new attendance system, others continue to be without biometrics. The locals accused the school staff of not being punctual and "enjoying lapse" in the absence of biometric attendance. The locals accused the concerned authorities in the Education Department of deliberately "dilly-dallying" the introduction of the new attendance system to benefit the "erring staff". A senior official in the department said the matter would be looked into. Meanwhile the locals have appealed the Governor NN Vohra to look into the matter in the interest of "better education." |
