Article 35A brings separatists-mainstreams closer in Kashmir as police go silent | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 1: While hearing on a case pertaining to Article 35 A is scheduled for the first week of August at the Supreme Court in the national capital, the development is bringing closer the mainstream politicians and separatists in Kashmir. At a recently organized round table conference on Article 35 A, apart from leaders from the National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party, several people who are known for their separatist ideology were also present. The function was held at a high class hotel in Srinagar where around 100 guests from the mainstream and the separatist ideology sat under one roof to decide future course of action. Most of the prominent faces at the event were members of a so called civil society group that is headed wife of senior separatist leader who is presently languishing at Tihar Jail in connection with the hawala funding. Sources said one independent MLA from north Kashmir is also among the faces who working hard to bring the separatist and mainstream camps closer in the region. Experts said the main reason for newly-found unity was that the state police allowed such anti-national forces to hold their requisite programs. Leave apart allowing the so called civil society and the "business leaders" to assemble under one roof for various events related to Article 35 A, the police allowed the separatist leadership to hold anti-India meet. The meeting of the so called Joint Resistance Leadership, held at Hyderpora residence of Syed Ali Geelani was attended by his counterparts including Muhammad Yasin Malik and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
