SIC directs BDO to provide copies of JEs’ degrees | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Sept 16: State Information Commission (SIC) has directed the Block Development Officer (BDO) Warwan district Kishtwar to provide copies of degree certificates of a Junior Engineer (JE) working in the block Warwan to an information seeker who was denied the same when sought under J&K RTI Act 2009. Details available with Early Times reveal that RTI application dated 03.01.2017 was filed by an information seeker namely Shahnawaz Ahmad R/O Gawari Dool Kishtwar with the PIO, Block Development Officer, Warwan seeking certified copies of academic, professional and technical qualification/degree of three Junior Engineers, namely, Tahir Masood, Adil Ahmad, Mudassir Ahmad Ahangar along with norms fixed by the Committee for engagement of these Junior Engineers/ Technical Assistants under MGNREGA scheme. After the requisite information was not provided, the appeal came up for hearing before the State Information Commission(SIC) on 29.08.2018. BDO, Warwan informed that the information with respect of two Junior Engineers, namely, Tahir Masood and Adil Ahmad has already been furnished to the appellant on 07.03.2018. However, information in respect of Mudasir Ahmad Ahangar is pending and would be provided to the appellant within the next two days. The appeal was disposed of with a direction to the Block Development Officer, Warwan to furnish information with respect of Mudasir Ahmad Ahangar, as sought by the appellant through his RTI application dated 03.01.2017 within a period of one week from the date of receipt of this order. |
