Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 16: The leadership of Janta Dal (United) by its State President G M Shaheen and State Youth President Raja Wasim, today kicks started election campaign in Jammu region ahead of ULB and Panchayat elections and asked the leaders and activists to aware the people of the state pertaining to the policies and programmes of JDU in the state.
Shaheen while addressing the workers committee meeting at Dogra Community Hall, Jammu said, "The Panchayat and municipality elections form the very basic structure of democracy at the ground level. Elections to urban local bodies will boost the democratic fabric of the state by providing administration at the doorsteps of the common individual." He added, "The party had formulated a fool-proof strategy to cement party's win in the local elections.
Most of the party leaders agreed that there is aggressive camping for Panchayat elections in Kashmir and a strategy has been chalked out in this regard." "The party will also soon announce a committee for Municipal and Panchayat in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions.
"State unit of JDU will soon announce names of members of the committee," Shaheen maintained and adding that members of the committee will visit the targeted areas, note the details of ground situation and requirements and prepare detailed report for discussion ahead of ULB election which is scheduled to hold on October 8 next month.
