Delay in bridge construction on Tarnha Nallah evokes resentment among people 9/16/2018 10:43:19 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Sept 16: The undue delay on the part of Border Roads Organization (BRO) on Tranha Nallah has been creating resentment among the people. It has been claimed that 25 km long route will be minimized to 4 km when the construction work of a bridge on Tarnha gorge ( nallha) completed but it reveals that 50 beneficiary villages have to wait for indefinite period due to delay and lethargic pace in construction work by Border Roads, BRO. The BRO consists of Border Roads Wing in the Ministry of Defence and the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) has started construction work few years back which is yet to be completed, the reason well known to BRO officials. Nanak Chand, President Border Union Force, BUF disclosed that the construction work of a bridge on Tranha nallha between Hiranagar and Chakra began few years back in meandered speed resulting obstacles and suffering for the 50 villages that have to travel 25 km additional route to reach Hiranagar which is approximately just 4 km from village Chakra. BRO left the construction work in midst and began another project at village Ladwal in Hiranagar tehsil, he added. The President BUF appealed DDC Kathua and another concerned officers to intervene the construction work for the benefit of 50 surrounding villages. Sohan Lal, Gopal Sharma and many villagers especially students raised many problems came out due to unavailability of bridge. They highlighted sufferings of students, patients, ceremonies and many other problems rising during celebration of even national festivals. Villagers appealed BRO and DDC Kathua to restart the construction work to respite public in general.
