Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 28: Chander Mohan Sharma Member J&K State Human Rights Commission today welcomed the enhancement of emoluments/ honorarium of special police officers (SPOs) by the Govt. of India. "This section of security staff was most neglected one, the duty being performed by them was most difficult, risky and ordinarily more then constables/ soldiers in peace and operational area. Recently numbers of SPOs have laid their lives in operations against terrorists." Sharma said. He added with bleak chance of promotion/ confirmation/ regularization in service and promotion the still perform their duty remarkably. Now with high scale of salaries they can live with dignity which is basic right of every individual, he added. Among others who were also present on the occasion included Balwant Singh, Subash Shastri, Ramesh Sharma, Sadeeq Mohd. and others. |
