Ex-babu, Cong leader raise complex in Bathindi | No permission sought, locals term it 'gundagardi' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 28: Showing utter disregard to the rules, a retired bureaucrat and a Congress leader have allegedly raised a seven storey commercial complex in Bathindi area that too without any permission from authorities. Sources informed Early Times that in Bathindi area most houses have been constructed in violation of building rules and without any permission from concerned authorities. "Work on a multi-storey complex in residential area of Bathindi near Mecca Masjid began two years back, but despite objections from locals, its builders-a Congress leader and a retired bureaucrat-using their connections in bureaucracy and political circle, they continued the work", said a local who raised the issue before various quarters seeking immediate stay on work. "Since the area does falls under jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), we also apprised Deputy Commissioner, Jammu time and again, but succumbing before bureaucratic and political pressure nobody dares to stop the work", sources said and added that a complaint has been registered with the Governor's Grievance Cell as well. |
