Suspects found with intimidating material detained under 'istekhasa', intelligence agencies kept in dark | National Security compromised! | | K Koushal Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 28: Compromising the National Security, an SHO allegedly detained two suspects under 'istekhasa' who were found roaming along the International Border (IB) and were reportedly selling readymade garments including Army t-shirts in the area. Moreover, a contact number of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) based was also found in the contact list of mobile phone of these suspects. Sources informed Early Times they duo suspects were found roaming and selling readymade garments along with army t-shirts in the a forward village along the International Border (IB) in Samba district. The suspected persons were hailing from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and their activities which were noticed as suspicious by some locals who informed the local police accordingly. After the receipt of information, local police reached on the spot and detained both of them and took them to the police station. "During their search, police recovered some readymade garments including Army t-shirts, 3 Sim cards two Sim card of JIO company and one of Airtel and in one of the mobile phone handset of the suspects a contact of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir was found", said a source adding that the detainees were also in possession of identity card issued by youth wing of a political party of Punjab, Pan Card and Adhar card. Sources further claimed several out of states people often visiting the border villages under guise of selling the clothes but police remained failed to check their credentials which raised serious question mark over national security. "And might be owing to the above said reasons, rather than the matter would be taken up with the security agencies, the said SHO detained them who were later freed after "istekhasa," said sources, adding that their custody should be given to the intelligence agencies so that their phone could be scrutinized whether they have shared any information of the area with anyone or not. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Samba Dr Kaushal Sharma also admitted there were some messages of lottery and might be originated from Pakistan. He further said that the duo were released after proper verification. |
