Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 28: In what could be termed as compromising quality of education in government primary schools, Education Department still utilizes the services of over eleven thousand untrained teachers. According to sources, deployment of untrained teachers in primary schools across the state is an issue of concern. Government time and again directed department concerned to provide requisite training to these teachers at an earliest but years lapse the department yet to enroll over eleven thousand teachers for training. "Maximum of them teach students below 5th class, known as foundation schools. The poor policies of government for engagement of untrained teachers in these schools caused education standard degrading day by day", sources said. Sources said that however, numerous schemes launched by government time to time in Jammu and Kashmir to raise education standards and abilities in students in government run schools. "As per report, a shocking picture of how education standards are being compromised in most of the government schools in Jammu and Kashmir. 60 percent students of 4th to 5th standard of government primary schools are not able to solve question related to subtraction while as only 13.7 percent students of 5th standard can solve division and over 75 percent Ist standard students of government schools are not able to read the text from their books", sources said, adding that state has hundreds of Teachers Training Institutions but interesting government as well as school education department had recruited thousands of untrained teachers for these primary schools. Sources further said that after declaration of board result, government expresses concern over poor performance of many schools and blame the teacher who deployed in these schools but not rectifies the basic problem. "If a student whose basic is weak up to 8th standard then how they give best performance in board examination", sources said. |
