DMEF expresses gratitude to voluntary organizations for helping stranded passengers | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 13: Darbar Move Employees Federation (DMEF-Non Secretariat) J&K State with the help of some voluntary organizations provided food and accommodation to the Kashmir bound stranded passengers. Expressing its gratitude to the Red Cross Society Jammu, President All Sikh Community Jammu, President Muslim Auqaf Body Jammu, Presidents/ Imams of Masjid Shariefs of Jammu and some NGOs of Jammu for their timely support and contribution in helping the people in distress, the Federation said that their assistance at the crucial juncture proved a blessing for the stranded passengers. The Federation further said that since all the bodies come forward special arrangements for the stay of passengers could be made possible in almost all the Mosques, Gurduwaras and all religious Sarais in Jammu adding that all remained open round the clock. While special arrangements were made for the women in these shelters, the inadequacy of blankets got solved by the Red Cross Society, who provided a large number of blankets to the Federation, it said. Now, it has been decided by the Core Body of Darbar Move Employees Federation to suspend all its programmes regarding the issue of stranded passengers adding that all concerned are conveyed that no further donations shall be accepted by the Federation for the same purpose. The Core Body headed by Ovais Wani, State President DMEF said that if need arises then we will convey the same. |
