Was changing names of places in Kashmir not an assault on Indian culture?

JAMMU, Feb 13: Reacting to the UP government changing names of places, including Mughalserai and Faizabad, former BJP-made J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti has said that "name changing is an attempt to demolish the idea of India we grew up wit; it's an assault on the country's Ganga Jamuna culture and trying to tell Muslims they don't belong here, and but be sure it is as much my country as yours".
It's obvious that she conveniently overlooked what happened under the nose of her father late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and under her own nose. After throwing out the miniscule minority of Kashmiri Hindus out of the Valley, the fanatics and had changed the names of many places, including those of the towns, villages and even of the roads. These towns also included Anantnag which was renamed as "Islamabad"; in Baramulla, Ranghat Mohalla was given the name of "Sayeed Karim Sahib"; while Post Office Road of Baramulla was given the name of "Shah Masal Market"; and so on.
According to reports, "the names of over 300 villages in the Valley have been changed". Reports have said: "Intriguingly, in many cases, even official recognition has been given to the changed names. The process of changing the names of places and even those of the rivers had started from Pakistan-occupied-Jammu & Kashmir where the Kishan Ganga river was renamed as 'River Nilam' and Krishna Ghati was given the name of 'Vade-e-Nilam'; Sharda Peeth was renamed as 'Daras-Gah-e-Sharief' and so on".
It needs to be underlined that one of the most ancient sites in Srinagar is the hill where holy Shankracharya temple is located. It has stood since ages. This hill has been renamed as "Takht-e-Suleiman". Similarly, Hari Parbat, which overlooks the town of Srinagar, has been renamed as "Koh-e-Maran". As a matter of fact, the name was de facto status by none other than a J&K Tourism Department's advertisement during the time of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. The advertisement clearly referred to Hari Parbat as "Koh-e-Maran", which literally means "mountain of snakes".
Will Mehbooba Mufti take note of these assaults on Indian culture and express regret? She will not because she knows that she would further lose ground in the Valley if she spoke the truth.
