Early Times Report Srinagar, Jul 13: The annual pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas was progressing smoothly as about 17000 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave on Saturday, an official spokesman said this evening. However, yatra from Jammu to Srinagar was suspended today for security reasons following strike called by separatists as on this day in 1931, 22 Kashmiris were killed in firing by police during Dogra rule. He said on the 13th day of the yatra since commencement of annual pilgrimage, about 17000 pilgrims, including women and Sadhus have darshan of the self made Ice Shivlingam today. He said with this a total of 1.74 lakh yatries had the darshan of the Shivlingam since the commencement of the annual pilgrimage from July Ist. |
