Jammu, July 13: A Divisional Level Exhibition was held at Teachers Bhawan, Jammu today which marks the official closure of Summer Camps in Jammu division. Summer camps & the Exhibition were organised by Directorate of Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with Pratham Education Foundation & UNICEF with an aim to provide an opportunity & platform to students as well as Out of School Children to showcase their models, drawings, crafts, & paintings etc. Besides students, large number of people including parents, teachers and Master Trainers marked their presence in the event & were left surprised by the models prepared by students. This was a huge step towards making education within the reach of every student in general & poor students in particular in summers. As proposed each summer zone of every district was allotted 10 summer camps. Summer camps was a unique idea as it not only provided quality education to students but also opportunities to show case their talent in other fields like Drawing, painting, Essay writing, model making etc. The major attraction of the summer camps was the introduction of Activity Based learning or CAMaL (Combined activities for maximizing learning) methodology of Pratham education foundation which is student friendly learning technique & helps in making things easily understandable to the students. |
