`Posh' Channi craves for basic amenities, admin unmoved | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 29: The otherwise posh Channi Himmat and Rama are craving for basic facilities for more than 6 years but surprisingly neither previous MLAs, who got heavy votes from the area, nor concerned authorities have taken any initiative in this regard. Moreover, a number of vacant plots have become garbage dumping sites where locals throw garbage as no bins have been installed in the area. The locals including Kaka, Dinesh Singh, Yadav Singh, Rohit, Satish Kumar, Bodh Raj, and many more told Early Times that since the BJP government came in the power especially Gandhi Nagar (ex) MLA not a single development work has done within the tenure of six years. They added that there were a number of problems being faced by the locals for last more than 6 years but no one has come to enquire about the issues related to development resulting the drains have blocked depilated roads, lanes and others. "The biggest problem in the Channi Rama is that despite being a posh area there is no passenger vehicle services. The matter was raised repeatedly with the concerned without results, " they stated. Moreover, they also said that the concerned authority has not provided them a container for the garbage forcing locals to throw garbage in adjoining plots. They accused previous MLAs of neglecting their area, which seeks the attention of them for improving the condition of the area. They also alleged that Politicians do come during the election's campaigns but when they got the votes they forget the promises and assurance which was done during the elections. "Do we not have the right to get basic facilities," they asked. |
