Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 1: Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta who would be contesting upcoming assembly elections from Gandhi Nagar Constituency as an independent candidate, on Thursday conducted his tour in Guru Nanak Nagar area as part of his mass contact program. During campaigning, Munish Gupta met people of the area and listened to their problems patiently and assured them that their civic problems would be addressed on a priority basis after he wins the election. Castigating the role of successive MLAs, the residents included Naveen, Rajan, Rani, Deepak Gupta, Raju, Ajay Gupta, Nishant, Veena Slathia, Ritika Slathia, Meenakshi, Shama Sharma, Veena Sharma, Vikas Khajuria, Rattan Chand, Preety Choudhary, Harjeet, Harjeet Singh and others informed Munish Gupta that said that the leaders come only to get vote, but after getting elected they forget the basic problems. Dilapidated roads, uprooted lanes and by-lanes, clogged drainage system, and littered garbage is proof of their (MLAs) performance. They told that the cleanliness is the major issues in the area and the garbage in the entrance of lane is being dumped but no official of the concerned authority comes to clean the area. The lanes in the area " were blacktopped but most of lanes are uprooted resulting the manholes have been developed on road. They appraised that there is a major problem of the faulty drainage system as well as sanitation due to the apathy of former MLAs as well as concerned authorities. Heaps of garbage could be seen near every junction due to the absence of dustbins. The stray animals and dogs the consuming the garbage day and night and foul smell emanating from the day and night. They added that the continue raining and its water wrecked havoc at someplace of their locality due to chocked drains and water entered in some houses of the area. "In this regards, we repeatedly appraised to authority concerned but till date they even not reply to our complaints," they stated. |
