S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report baramulla, Aug 1: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Thursday inaugurated the Government Medical College Baramulla, and that will start its function from this session only. Governor was accompanied by Member Parliament Mohamed Akbar Lone, Advisers and Chief Secretary and other officers. Every leader who runs state administration should primarily focus on underprivileged sections of the society, said Malik. He said that there should be general attitude of every political leader to reach out to this section for overall development of the state. He said that efforts are on to make Jammu and Kashmir a better place to live. Soon after the inauguration of GMC Baramulla, on the sidelines of a function S P Malik told media persons that every leader who is a part of the state administration should primarily focus on underprivileged sections of the society. Every leader who runs any state should focus on the people's economic conditions, and everything in J&K is normal and people should not pay any heed to the rumors, said Governor. While reply a question on skirmish on LoCs in north Kashmir, Inaugurated GMC Baramulla S P Malik said that, our jawans have been giving befitting reply to the ceasefire violation along Line of Control (LoC) by Pakistan. The ceasefire violation by Pakistan along LoC is being countered appropriately, we are giving more to Pakistani side than what they give to us, adding I think they will stop the ceasefire violation in two-three days now, Governor said. When asked about the construction of underground bunkers in Uri sector, the Governor said that many bunkers have been built while as the rest are being constructed on war footing basis. He also said that his administration will try to put an end to the poverty, ensure employment and want the State be developed further. ET has learnt from sources that, each medical college will have an intake capacity of 100 seats from the current academic session 2019-20. We have been told by the officials that, there will be an intake capacity of 125 students for 1st year MBBS, including 25 nomination seats and among them 25 nomination seats are yet to be selected, adding first batch of MBBS students will start their function from the current academic session only, sources informed. |
