Abducted girl rescued

Jammu, Sept 28: Jammu and Kashmir police has succeeded to rescue an abducted girl during a sensitive operation that was carried out with the help of District Police Shopian in the jurisdiction of Police Station Shopian.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Yougal Manhas said that girl (name withheld) was abducted by a boy from Manhas Mohalla of Jawahar Nagar in Rajouri three days ago after which parents of girl lodged their complaint in police station Rajouri and a case under relevant sections of law was registered.
Soon after the registration, SSP Rajouri said, team of police headed by DySP Prob. Ishan Gupta and Station House Officer Rajouri Sameer Jillani started investigation and four persons suspected to have helped the prime accused in abduction of girl were detained and put to questioning.
Sensing gravity of the case, a special team headed by Deputy SP Headquarters Surinder Khadyar was also constituted while a protest staged by parents and relatives of abducted girl on highway on Friday was pacified on the assurance that the case will be solved sincerely. Meanwhile, SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas said that during investigation some vital leads were developed that girl and accused could have been present in a village of Shopian district. He said that the information was shared with District Police Shopian and a special team headed by DySP Prob. Ishan Gupta and SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani was rushed to Shopian where a sensitive operation was launched.
However, some people tried to resist the operation but police teams of Shopian and Rajouri dealt the situation in a professional manner and succeeded in rescuing the girl. The prime accused of the case, identified as Mehboob Manhas, resident of Chandimarh and at present in Manhas Mohalla of Rajouri was also nabbed in the operation besides recovering the girl.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Yougal Manhas said that further investigation of the case is going on. SSP Rajouri has also conveyed his compliments to the Police teams of Shopian without the assistance and cooperation of whom the case could not have been solved.
