Looting of party funds going uncontrolled in BJP
9/28/2019 10:46:53 PM
Early Times Report
jammu, Sept 28: Notwithstanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign against corruption, swindling of party fund within state unit of BJP is going unabated because those who are at the helm of affairs in the party are looting party's fund with one way or other.
Credible sources in the party said that since long looting of party fund is going uncontrolled in the state unit of BJP because those at the helm of affairs are allegedly hand in glove with those who are swinding party funds.
Credible sources said that latest episode of looting fund was September 22 'Jan Jagran Abhiyan Rally' which was virtually flop show as far as strength was concerned. "Although the rally was organized by civil society, party has hired 120 mini buses for carrying people from different parts", source said and pointed out that strength in the rally was not more than 1200 people but payment was made to 120 mini-buses without mentioning their numbers. Out of total 1200 people, half of them came in their own vehicles. "How come payment has been paid for 120 mini buses when only 600 people had travelled in these vehicles?", a senior leader asked on the condition of anonymity and disclosed that looting in the name of transport and other activities was going uncontrolled.
As reported in media, BJP's much-touted "Jan Jagran Abhiyan" rally, organised to mark the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, elicited a poor response from local residents.
People's resentment and infighting within the party were among the reasons responsible for low turnout at the rally, with nearly 60 per cent of the chairs arranged for the function remaining empty.
It was widely believed that poor response was the result of the party's 'deceptive' tactics on this emotive issue of declaring holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh that people were not ready to believe local BJP leaders.
