Inter school folk dance competition organized

Kathua, Nov 23: An inter school folk dance competition was organized by Jammu Sanskrit School Kathua. The stage came alive when the students of fifteen different schools staged spectacular dance performances in the competition. The dance troupes from various schools mesmerized the audience with their performances based on the theme "Folk Dances of India"
Ganshyam Singh KAS (Additional DC Kathua) was the Chief Guest on the occasion, Aruna Sharma (District Education Planning Officer) was the Guest of Honor and Nirmal Mahana (President of Jammu Sahodaya) was the Special Guest. The jury members for the day were Mr. Arjun Hans (JRF, Department of Finance, Jammu University) and US Liza (JRF, Department of English, Jammu University).
The jury members although inspite of their profiles were passionate dancers who have participated in many dance events like Kala Sangram, semi finalist, DID doubles, having their own YouTube channel - Arjun Hans and also have performed at Abhinav Theater.
They too were left mesmerized with the dance performances.
Students from various schools exhibited their immense potential and the rich diverse cultural heritage of India. Plethora of dynamic folk dances of different states of India such as Rajsthani, Dogri, Haryanvi, Lavni, Bhangra, Gidda and so on was put forth by the young and talented students of different schools of Jammu Sahodaya School Complex.
Although the performances put forth were spectacular but the traditional validation is a ritual to be followed. Hence the list of winners are as follows :-
The first prize was bagged by JK Public School, Kunjwani, Sai International School, Hiranagar ranked second and third prize was bagged by Army Public School Akhnoor. Consolation prize
Lauding the performances, Aruna Sharma Guest of stated that dancing is the most beautiful art as it is not mere translation or abstraction from life, it is life itself.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Aditi Khajuria who while addressing the gathering appreciated the efforts of each participating school and the teachers who worked hard to prepare them for displaying an amazing projection of competence and expression. Nirmal Mahana President Jammu Sahodaya congratulated the participants and was spell bound with the level of confidence among students.
She also thanked the Management, Principal and Teaching Fraternity of Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua to have put up a wonderful event.
