Congress demands to lower price of petroleum products | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 15: Former Chairman of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and senior Congress leader Satish Sharma today said despite the ever-decreasing crude oil prices in the international market, the Congress has called the BJP government as anti-people and anti-poor, after the central government did not give relief to the general public. Addressing media persons, Sharma criticized the BJP's central government, by saying that at present, crude oil is being sold cheaper than water in the international market. But the BJP government is not passing the benefits to the general public. On the contrary, the excise duty on oil is increased to rob the public. He said that the way the price of crude oil has come down to below Rs 18 per liter at this time, according to this, the government should immediately reduce the price of oil and provide relief to the general public. He said that instead of filling their treasury, the central government would give relief to the general public. Satish said that if the prices of diesel and petrol are reduced, then the direct benefit of this will go to the common and poor people of the country. Because this will reduce inflation in the country, the prices of pulses and vegetables will be reduced and by reducing the rate of one oil, the government can give direct benefits to 130 crore people of the country. |
