SRINAGAR, May 5: After continuous spike in the Corona Virus cases over the past few days sanity returned to the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir as 15 positive cases of COVID-19 were reported today. While 14 cases were reported from Kashmir one case came up from Jammu division. Reports said that fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported from Shopian, Srinagar, Bandipora, Anantnag and Baramulla districts of Kashmir valley. From the Jammu division the fresh case was reported from Udhampur division. With today’s cases the number of positive cases in Jammu & Kashmir reached 741. From the Kashmir valley while six cases were reported from Shopian in South Kashmir, four cases including that of a corporator of Srinagar Municipal Corporation were reported from Srinagar. At the same time Bandipora reported two fresh cases while as a case each was reported from Baramulla and Anantnag districts. The Jammu & Kashmir government through the media bulletin informed that 15 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), one from Jammu division and 14 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 741. Out of 741 positive cases, 413 are active positive, 320 have recovered and eight have died. Moreover, 17 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals from Kashmir division. As per the bulletin, out of 31,312 test results available, 30,571 samples have tested as negative till May 5, 2020. Furthermore, till date 80,206 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 13,688 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 213 in Hospital Quarantine, 413 in hospital isolation and 7,274 under home surveillance. Besides, 58,610 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Bandipora has 132 positive cases with 69 active positive, 62 recovered, one died; Srinagar has 113 positive cases with 36 active positive, 75 recovered, two died; Anantnag district has 110 positive cases with 108 active positive, one recovered, one died; Baramulla has 104 positive cases with 59 active positive, 42 recovered, three died; “Shopian has 89 positive cases, 64 active positive, 25 recovered, Kupwara has 66 positive cases with 36 active positive, 30 recovered, Budgam has 30 positive cases with 18 active positive and 12 recovered cases; Ganderbal has 14 positive cases and all of them have recovered; Kulgam has 11 positive cases with eight active positive and three recoveries; Pulwama has nine positive cases with six active positive, three recovered,” said the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 27 positive cases with one active positive and 26 have recovered; Udhampur has 21 positive cases with one active positive case, 19 recovered and one died, Samba has seven positive cases wherein three are active positive and four have recovered; Rajouri has four positive cases, one active positive and three have recovered; Kathua has one positive case who is active positive; Kishtwar had only one positive case who has recovered while Ramban and Reasi districts have one positive case each which are active positive. The media bulletin, while describing AarogyaSetu as a bridge to prevent spread of COVID-19 in our country, informed the people that AarogyaSetu IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System), a pan India toll free service-1921, has been started for including the citizens with feature phones and landlines under the protection of AAROGYA SETU. Under this toll free service, the citizens need to give a missed call to the number 1921 which will get disconnected and citizens will receive a call back requesting for inputs regarding their health. The questions asked are aligned to the AarogyaSetu App. Based on the responses given, the citizens will get an SMS indicating their health status and will continue to get alerts for their health moving forward also. The service is being implemented in 11 regional languages same as the app and SMS is sent to the citizen in the same language in which he has shared his information. The input is made part of the AarogyaSetu database and information is processed to send alerts to the citizens on the action to be taken to ensure their safety. |
