Jammu, May 5: Despite nationwide outcry against act of an official of the Forest Department, higher-ups in the Kashmir Valley are hesitating to take action against Yonus Bhat, who has insulted Handwara martyrs. Instead of taking action against Yonus Bhat, authorities in the Valley have maintained a criminal silence over his anti-national act. Credible sources said that it was all due to fear of Kashmir centric parties that authorities in Kashmir Valley could not muster guts to take action against Yonus Bhat, who has demonized martyrdom of five martyrs. Unfortunately, J&K unit of BJP has also maintained a criminal silence over act of Yonus Bhat. Fearing that their ‘future coalition alliance partners’ would be annoyed if they demanded action against Yonus Bhat, Jammu based ‘nationalist’ BJP leaders are also not demanding any action against Bhat Fearing that demanding action against Yonus Bhat would annoy future coalition partners in Valley, BJP bigwigs of J&K direct local leaders to maintain silence on this issue according to credible sources, is well connected with Kashmir centric parties. Credible sources said that some BJP leaders had sought permission from bigwigs of the party to issue a handout demanding action against Yonus Bhat but they were snubbed by bigwigs for unnecessarily raking up ‘irrelevant’ issues. As reported earlier by this newspaper, Younis Bhat, an official in the J&K Forest Department has shamelessly posted highly derogatory comment against five martyrs of Hardwara. Photo of his comment and his Facebook profile has been circulated in social media but authorities in J&K could not muster guts to take action against that Forest Officer. Nationalist people on the social media are demanding that the Forest Officer should be immediately terminated from his service and action should be taken against him for disrespecting martyrs of the Army and J&K Police. |
