Pulwama May 06: Gunfire between security forces and militants has resumed in Beighpora area of Pulwama, said officials.
The gunfight broke out between Government forces and militants in Beighpora Awantipora had started early morning. Forces had launched search operation on Tuesday evening after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
"A joint team of 55 RR, CRPF and Awantipora Police launched cordon and search operation in the area , " said officials.
Jammu Kashmir police earlier said a top hizb commander is believed to be trapped and operation was under way.
The police has advised to media to not indulge in 'speculative reporting'
"At this stage we can't confirm the killing any militants has we don't have retrieved any body from the encounter site," an officer, who is part of the operation, told Early Times.
