07 fresh positive cases, 519 active positive cases and 83 recovered in north Kashmir | Arrangements made to send stranded labourers to their native places | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, June 11: Among 67 fresh positive cases that were reported today, 07 cases were reported in north Kashmir. However district administration Kupwara has made final arrangements for sending back the stranded migrant labourers to their native places. According to the available details, In Baramulla district, 02 fresh positive cases were reported today, total no of cumulative cases are 497, active positive cases are 325, 40 have recovered as on date and 10 deaths have occurred so far in this district. In Kupwara district, 01 fresh positive cases have been reported today, 376 are cumulative cases, 127 are active positive cases, 14 have recovered as on date, and 03 deaths have occurred so far. In Bandipora district, 04 fresh positive cases including 02 travelers and 02 others, whereas 233 are cumulative cases, 67 are active positive, 14 have recovered as on date and 03 deaths have occurred so far. However in the entire three districts, almost 83 people have recovered as on date, and it has given a big relief to the people of north Kashmir. Meanwhile, District Administration Kupwara has made special arrangements for 206 stranded migrant labourers for return to their native places. A programme schedule for their departure has been devised which will start from June 13 and conclude on June 15. For their pick-up, two venues have been notified in the district which includes District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara and Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Handwara. The persons belonging to Bihar have been asked to present themselves at DPL Kupwara on June 13 for their departure and the persons belonging to West Bengal & Jharkhand have been asked to present themselves at the same venue on June 15 for departure. Similarly, the persons belonging to Uttar Pradesh have been asked to present themselves at BHSS Handwara on June 14 for their departure. On the occasion, the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) directed the concerned to keep close coordination among themselves for smooth departure of the stranded outsiders from the district. Meanwhile, the stranded outsiders, who have not yet registered themselves with the Labour Department Kupwara and are willing to go back to their home state, have been asked to avail off the opportunity and present themselves at the same venues according to their place of destination.
