Daal main kala? Pvt schools object to JKBOSE inspection | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 11: Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Association demanding withdrawal of a circular to inspect the private institutions has raised many eyebrows. People are asking why the association is adamant on not allowing their schools to be inspected. It’s in place to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Association discussed the issue of annual inspections of schools by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) during a recently held meeting of the body. General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta drew attention of the members towards the circular number F (Gen-An-Insp.) B/JD dated 05-06-2020, issued by JKBOSE regarding annual inspection for determination of infrastructure and academic viability for the private schools of Jammu Division, which were granted extension in affiliation/ recognition up to November 2021 for W/Z and up to March 2021 for S/Z. The participants demanded immediate reconsideration and withdrawal of the circular as all schools have been granted affiliation/ recognition by the Board affiliation committee after scrutinizing all the relevant documents. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “One fails to understand why the private schools are objecting to the inspection proposal forwarded by the JKBOSE. Is it that these schools are not fully equipped? Or there are other reasons. It seems that there is something fishy and their entire daal is kali.” He said, “Despite schools being closed parents are paying the tuition fee but there are allegations that these schools have sent the teachers on leave without pay and are managing the so-called online classes with a small team. They fear that if the inspection takes place it may lead to opening of a Pandora’s Box and will expose these institutions.” An observer said, “If the JKBOSE conducts a thorough inspection many skeletons will tumble out. That’s why representatives of the private school associations want this circular to be withdrawn. If these institutions have got nothing to hide then they should not create a fuss about it and allow the JKBOSE officials to perform their duties.” |
